GEKKO GOES DESIGN DIGITAL, AGAIN.
Gekko was the first tow boat to incorporate digital design processess and CNC tooling production with the Gekko G3 model. We did that 15 years ago resulting in some of the most timeless styles with an automotive feel. Such technologies can produce boats with unprecedented symmetry and industry leading tolerances. From there we went on to build the REVO series, wanting to produce something different and incorporate a great story with a performance and technology advantage.
As we enter the 2016 model year, we're at it again. The new Komodo represents advanced stying and some very cool eye candy. There are plenty of "me too" boats out there, we didn't want to simply throw our hat in the ring. Risking a love it or hate it opinion stream, we opted to go extreme in hopes of attracting some attention and building upon Gekko's base of passionate followers.
The additional benefits that are less sexy deal with engine and drive train placement, dash dimensions and certain angles where traditional processes become fuzzy in terms of exact figures. We think we've got that dialed and the attached picture shows how we've created the perfect engine bay. Not only will this new design permit exceptional access from inside the boat, but we'll have another set of "firsts" since you'll be able to service and get at the front of the engine through the transom. Very cool, especially if you're a service tech. If you're not, but you appreciate some advanced thinking, you'll like this. The Komodo is coming soon.
